Ghostly Historical Scientists to Bring Astronomy to Life
Missouri Ag Connection - 10/19/2017

With Halloween approaching, scientists from the University of Missouri's Department of Physics and Astronomy will host a Halloween-themed observatory to teach children about astronomy. The event will feature deceased astronomers from history who will be available to talk with parents and kids as they view the night sky from the observatory. Candy and other treats will be available during the event.

Children will have opportunities to visit the "Hogwarts Astronomy Tower" where they will meet long-dead historical astronomers and literary figures, including Sir Isaac Newton, Galileo and Professor Dumbledore from the Harry Potter novels.

Parents and children who are interested in learning about astronomy can attend the event at Laws Observatory, Physics Building, MU campus, from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 25. This event is free and open to the public.
