Jones Dairy Supreme Champion at Arkansas State Fair
Missouri Ag Connection - 11/11/2019

Supreme Champion of the Arkansas State Fair was awarded to an Ayrshire dairy cow presented by two College of the Ozarks students at the Arkansas State Fair.

Beau Cartwright, senior animal science and agriculture business major, and Dylan Blankenship, senior animal science major, were proud to represent the C of O dairy as it received the highest honor of the fair.

"Once the show began, all of our hard work and stress was made worth it by the judges' and spectators' admiration for our cattle," Cartwright said. "This was my last trip for this College, and it was great to end on a high note to close my time at the wonderful W. Alton Jones Dairy."

Six Grand Champion cows representing six different breeds were judged for Supreme Champion, two of which were from College of the Ozarks -- the Grand Champion Ayrshire and the Grand Champion Holstein. The best cow of the six breeds, the Ayrshire, was crowned Supreme Champion of the Arkansas State Fair.

In addition to the Supreme Champion and the two Grand Champions, the W. Alton Jones Dairy was awarded Junior Champion Holstein Heifer.
