Missouri Harvests Nearing 90-Perent Level

Temperatures last week averaged 30.9 degrees, 13.3 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.19 inches statewide, 0.62 inches below normal. There were 5.2 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 3 percent short, 87 percent adequate, and 10 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 3 percent short, 90 percent adequate, and 7 percent surplus.

Corn harvested for grain progressed to 85 percent, 10 percentage points behind last year.

Soybean harvested progressed to 83 percent this week, 7 percentage points ahead of last year.

Cotton harvested progressed to 86 percent, 10 percentage points behind last year.

Winter wheat planted progressed to 87 percent this week, 6 percentage points ahead of last year, while winter wheat emerged progressed to 68 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated at 2 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 49 percent fair, 40 percent good, and 2 percent excellent.
