Pesticide Applicator Training in Mt. Vernon March 11
Missouri Ag Connection - 03/08/2010
A pesticide applicator training session is scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, in the basement of the Lawrence County Courthouse, Mt. Vernon.
According to the class instructor, Tim Schnakenberg, an agronomy specialist with University of Missouri Extension, the session will last about three hours.
Missouri law requires all purchasers and users of Restricted-Use pesticides for private use to attend a training session to be certified for a private applicators license. The license is good for five years.
This training is open to producers of agricultural commodities, 18 years of age or older, who need to receive a private pesticide license and those who need to recertify their license. There is a charge of $12
for the purchase of the training manual, payable at the door.
"Pesticide applicators should be looking at their licenses for the expiration date to see if they need to recertify or attend a training session if it has expired. This type of training is required to recertify licenses,"
said Schnakenberg.
Contact the Lawrence County Extension Center at 417-466-3102 if you are unable to attend this session to learn other options for training.
This pesticide applicator training session is made possible by the Lawrence County Commission and the Lawrence County University of Missouri Extension Council.
