Cattle Producers Engage in Leadership Development
Missouri Ag Connection - 03/15/2019

The 2019 Missouri Cattlemen's (MCA) County Leadership Conference was held in Columbia and Jefferson City. MCA County Leaders were in attendance along with the nine delegates of the newly established Missouri Cattlemen's Leadership College.

The conference is designed to provide information about the structure of MCA while educating the attendees on parliamentary procedure, media training and state policy. Attendees also met with elected leaders. The group was able to learn more about the importance of boots on the ground and grassroots advocacy.

This event was the first session for the inaugural class of the Missouri Cattlemen's Leadership College. This program is designed to cultivate new leaders for the association and the industry. This yearlong commitment will give an insight to national policy, the beef industry on a national scale and an in-state session to discuss the importance of the state's role in the industry.

"The Missouri Cattlemen's Leadership College is new, exciting, and is an amazing opportunity for this group of delegates. I am proud to be involved in the execution of this idea and can't wait to see where this next year takes our first group of delegates," said MCA President Bobby Simpson.
