Missouri SNAP Recipients to Get February Early

Due to the partial federal government shutdown, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients will get their February benefits in January (one month early) and will not get a SNAP benefit in February. Missouri officials caution that recipeints will need to carefully spend SNAP benefit to make sure it lasts both months.

What should people do if their food stamps verification is pending?

If people have verification pending on a food stamp case, it must have been submitted by 11:59 a.m. on Jan. 15 to SNAP@dss.mo.gov or a FSD Resource Center

Will recipients get SNAP benefits in future months?

At this time, Missouri officials do not know if SNAP benefits for future months will be available.

What can recipients dor for their families?

Carefully spend your Food Stamp benefit so that your food supply will last, Missouri officials said, adding that if you need more help, you can also reach out to your local food bank or contact the Family Support Division for help locating other resources that may be helpful to you and your family
