Missouri Wheat Acres Down 2 Percent from 2017

Missouri harvested winter wheat area in 2018 is forecast at 530,000 acres, down 2 percent from the previous year, according to USDA's National Ag Statistics Service.
The winter wheat yield is forecast at 65 bushels per acre, down 3 bushels from 2017. If realized, this would be the third highest yield on record. Production is forecast at 34.5 million bushels, down 6 percent from the previous year.
U.S. winter wheat production is forecast at 1.20 billion bushels, up 1 percent from the May 1 forecast but down 6 percent from 2017. As of June 1, the United States yield is forecast at 48.4 bushels per acre, up 0.3 bushel from last month but down
1.8 bushels from last year's average yield of 50.2 bushels per acre.
