Missouri Farmers to Discuss Trade and Export Tariff Impacts
Missouri Ag Connection - 08/10/2018

On Aug. 13, Farmers for Free Trade and Missouri Farm Bureau will host a discussion with farmers and commodity leaders from across the state about how Missouri exports are being impacted by new export tariffs. The rally and media event begin at 11 a.m. and will include state dairy, row crop, and livestock producers, among others. State farmers and agribusinesses will share stories about how farmers are already paying the price for escalating trade tensions and will discuss the need for certainty and predictability of trade policies.

Expected on the agenda for Monday's event are Chris Chinn, Missouri director of agriculture; Missouri Farm Bureau; Missouri Corn Growers Association; Missouri Dairy Association; Missouri Cattlemen's Association; Missouri Soybean Association; Missouri Pork Association; and Farmers for Free Trade.

The event will take place at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia in the VIP tent located near 16th Street Gate.
