Pre-registration Due for 97th Greene Ag Production Meeting

The 97th Annual Agriculture Production Conference and Greene County Soil and Water Conservation District Annual Meeting is Jan. 28 in the 2nd-floor banquet room at Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, 6821 West Independence, Springfield.
Speakers for the evening will cover two topics identified as being of significant interest for agriculture production this coming year.
Will McClain, Assistant Professor at Missouri State University, will present, "Grazing Your Way to Profitable Beef Production."
The evening will end with a panel discussion focused on "Growing Farm Revenues with U-Pick Operations." Kelly McGowan, horticulture specialist with MU Extension will moderate the panel featuring local producers. Panelists include Andre Gradinariu from Gardener's Orchard in Brighton, Sasha Rhea from Rhea Farm in Fair Grove and Jan Wooten of Sunshine Valley Farms near Rogersville.
The evening will begin with updates from the Farm Services Agency and NRCS, the Greene County Soil and Water Conservation District and Greene County MU Extension.
"This conference provides research-based information and options to area agriculture producers that can help them make more informed and profitable decisions," said Tim Schnakenberg, agronomy specialist with MU Extension and coordinator of this program.
Pre-registration is needed by Jan. 24 for this free event to aid in meal planning.
