Monarch Program at Battle of Lexington Historic Site

Children of all ages will have an opportunity to learn about pollinators and their importance while having fun during Monarch Madness at 2 p.m. Sept. 24 at Battle of Lexington State Historic Site.

During the program, participants can view a certified monarch waystation, create pollinator-themed crafts, and watch a presentation on monarch butterflies by Gwen Trumbo, a Master Gardener. Participants will receive milkweed seeds and information on how to start their own butterfly garden at home.

The Battle of Lexington State Historic Site is located at 1101 Deleware St. in Lexington. For more information about the program, contact the site at 660-259-4654. Missouri State Parks is supported by the one-tenth of one-percent Parks, Soils and Water Sales Tax, which accounts for approximately 75 percent of the budget to repair, improve and maintain state parks and historic sites. Missouri State Parks is a division of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
